We now had a short but welcome relief from Ottoman history and made a quick visit to the market area which consists of both open and covered bazaars and also hans (Turkish name for caravanserais) built around quiet courtyards which would once have provided dwellings and storage areas for merchants, but have now been converted into shops.
One of the covered bazaars, which Göksel said would be cheaper than Istanbul's Grand Bazaar should we wish to buy anything.
I'm going to miss my friend when we're home, perhaps I should look for a tea towel with his face on!
I honestly didn't see the guy in the window when I was taking this, otherwise I would have lined him up a bit better.
The intricate work on this arm bracelet was just beautiful.
Remember we saw a little boy in Istanbul wearing similar to the dark blue outfit on his circumcision day.
Tea to go!
Taken from the second floor of Koza Hani which was once a caravanserai.
This building is a mosque with an ablutions area underneath.
Which seems to be home to two kittens. My dislike of cats is well known but even I couldn't resist a few shots of these cuties.
One of these two was a money changer or lender or whatever. The chap with the pony tail had a huge wad of cash in his hand when I spotted him, but as soon as I lifted my camera he quickly stuffed it in his bag.
